Harmony Empowered Living Program

Harmony is launching a new self-sufficiency program in August 2019!  

The Harmony Empowered Living Program serves individuals ages 18 to 45 who are unemployed, or whose salary is below the Dallas median income level. Through outreach and recruitment, 50 individuals in cohorts of 12, will enroll in our self-sufficiency program. We provide assessment, plans of action, case management, resources, and referrals by uncovering what a client must have to obtain employment, education, or career advancement that leads to livable wages. Harmony Empowered Living Program provides support to individuals through a holistic approach designed to assist individuals in becoming self-sufficient using intense case management and wrap around services. Quarterly, we will recruit 50 individuals to participate in Harmony Empowered Living Program. All candidates will receive stabilization services and 12 of the 50 will be selected to move through the comprehensive self-sufficiency case management program.
The goal of Harmony Empowered Living Program is designed to increase the number of individuals prepared to pursue and secure employment. This will result in economic empowerment and financial stability while producing wealth within the South Oak Cliff community. This multifaceted approach is based on the Annie E. Casey Working Families Success Model and the evidence-based Arizona Self-sufficiency Model for case management.

  2. Is child care provided? Yes

  3. Is there a bus line near the Harmony Facility? Yes

  4. How many classes can I miss? A participant can only miss 3 sessions. It must be an excused absence pre-approved by staff.

  5. Dress attire for classes? Business casual. Jeans are acceptable.  No ripped/torn tops or bottoms.

  6. How long is the program? The program is 14 weeks, 2 sessions per week.

  7. Will this program help me get a job? The program is designed to help you identify a career path, develop a strong work ethic, build your work skills and assist you in obtaining a job and/or certification that includes career path that leads to livable wages.

  8. What type of career paths will the program offer? Customer Service, IT, Healthcare, Insurance, Advanced Manufacturing, Trucking, Security and Logistics.
