Harmony Program Volunteers

CAREER PATHWAY

Career Pathway offers a 6-week certification program to help participants identify their job challenges while working in partnership with community professionals, business owners, and others to improve their current employment and financial status.

Volunteer Interest: 
  • Mentors provide guidance, advice, feedback, and support to the mentee (*)
  • Moderators serve as the hosts of each class (*)
  • Facilitators serve as the educators of the weekly topic (Curriculum is provided) (*)
  • Data Managers record attendance and any questions or resources that will need to be researched and communicated before the next class (*)
  • Coaches assist the participants with their questions or needed support in between classes (*)
  • Special Event Support participates in events such as Career Fairs, workshops and graduations

FINANCIAL PATHWAY

Financial Pathway offers a 6-week certification program where participants receive professional coaching assistance with money management, budgeting, reducing debt, establishing and improving credit, connecting to safe and affordable banking services, building savings, and referrals to other services and organizations.

  • Facilitators serve as the educators of the weekly topic (Curriculum is provided) (*) 
  • Data Managers record attendance and any questions or resources that will need to be researched and communicated before the next class (*)

YES Program

The YES Program is a 6-week cohort designed to educate, mentor, and inspire youth from 8th grade to 12th grade to become whole and empowered. Through these program initiatives, participants will discover their passion, strengthen their skills, and prepare for their future.

  • Facilitators serve as the educators of the weekly topic (Curriculum is provided) (*)
  • Data Managers record attendance and any questions or resources that will need to be researched and communicated before the next class (*)
  • Coaches assist the participants with their questions or needed support in between classes (*)
  • Tutors assist with schoolwork, projects, and test prep (*)
  • Special Event Support participates in events such as Career Fairs, workshops and graduations (*)

FOOD PANTRY

Assist the Food Pantry team in preparing and distributing weekly food boxes to the community.

Volunteer Interest:

  • Food Pantry Service – Serve clients by registering their visit, loading vehicles, packaging food produce, refrigerated and/or freezer items, directing traffic or performing other essential duties to operate a safe and efficient food pantry. Box Packing may also be done on these days.
  • Truck Unloading – Assist with weekly restocking of the food pantry by unloading the truck and placing inventory in designated areas. Some inventory and produce sorting.
  • Box Packing – Make shelf-stable food boxes. 
  • Monthly Inventory – Assist with the monthly counting of inventory for reporting purposes.
  • Participant Registration - This includes assisting participants with completing paperwork for the food pantry during distribution hours.  
  • Data Entry - This includes entering food pantry data into Harmony database. These time slots can be during food pantry hours as well.

Volunteer Hours: 

Monday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm  

Tuesday: 10:00 am-1:00 pm or 3:30 pm-6:30 pm  

Thursday: 9:30 am-2:00 pm

Resource Center

We provide resources and referrals to assist individuals and families with access to needed programs and services.

Volunteer Interest:

  • Receptionist - Greet and assist resource center walk-ins and provide general resource information. Answer, screen, and direct telephone calls to appropriate staff and/or provide general resource information. Review and respond to email inquiries and provide general resource information.

Operations

We provide operation support to the Harmony Programs.

Volunteer Interest:

  • Marketing Support- Support our marketing team by helping devise creative concepts, creating graphics, taking photos, videography, and conducting interviews. 
  • Administrative Support- Support our administrative team by assisting in data collection and reporting, creating presentations and detailed reports. 
  • Special Event Support- Support special events by assisting in event planning and implementation, budgeting, facility set-up and breakdowns, and providing customer service to attendees.
